It’s been a week. Since starting full-time again at the hospital I feel like the longer hours have left little time for anything else during the week. Those four packed days consist of pretty much the exact same routine, where if I can squeeze in a quick workout and an episodes of Scrubs it’s been a success. I’m really seeing nothing but what’s right in front of me.

My week started Sunday, but my responsibilities as a Lead started when I clocked in at 0506 Monday morning to do the assignments for the neuro rehab team. It’s been a blur ever since; having an intern doesn’t make it any calmer. And since I’ve become a Lead I find myself in more conflicts with people lately. No me gusta.
Those four jam-packed days do pay off at the end of the week. Every other week I have a four-day weekend, which I’m smack-dab in the middle of right now. So good!
Thursday and Friday of this week were spent at my mom’s house. This house has been referenced plenty of times in this blog. In a way I can’t wait for this house to be sold so we can move on to the next phase of life. A small part of me wants everything to stay the same. Oh, life!

April is the month of my dad’s birthday and death and now I find myself rummaging through countless old documents, pictures and items that have his memory written all over it. To say I’m contemplative would be an understatement. To say I’m nostalgic wouldn’t even touch it. To say I won’t cry at three notes of a Doo-Wop tune would be a big, fat lie (see Dirty Dancing, see the restaurant we went to last night).

I ventured into the attic today and uncovered eight boxes of schoolwork, projects, and awards from my formal education- ALL of my formal education (and that of my brother). I found other gems like an Oija Board (which explains why my house might be haunted) Teeny Beanie Babies from 1999-2000 Happy Meals (still waiting for that value to be appreciated), and tons of knick-knacks that, let’s face it, should have gone to GoodWill instead of the attic. I enjoyed the slow, meandering stroll down memory lane. Mom wants to put the house on the market next month so this will have to speed to a race!

Speaking of racing, M and I are putting this house on the market next week! Things are moving fast, but we’re looking forward to finding a place of our own in a quieter location not too far from where we are now.
For someone who hasn’t moved her entire life, I’m now experiencing the start of two moves at once. Overwhelming? I’d say so. There are times I can’t handle it, but most of the time it helps to live in the present.
Some things I’ve been enjoying lately:
Working out again and watching those muscles get firmer:

Crafts! I made this bouquet for Jenna’s wedding rehearsal:

Long walks in the park…with Molly, of course! She discovered thunder recently:

Eating good, tasty food thanks to my live-in chef:

I’m feeling a little frazzled but holding onto my constants. I’m braving the storm…with my thunder-face of course.
